Introduction:
Charity Books was set up in 2004 to provide a book selling and revenue generating service for UK charities. We specialise in the second hand book market and use that knowledge to maximise the prices achieved for books that have been donated for charitable use.
       
   

NB. We are a business not a charity.

  
       
    As well as working with charities we aim to attract book donations direct from the general public. Donors are given the opportunity to nominate which charity benefits from the sale of their books.
  
       
 
Philosophy:      
 

Charity Books is an ethical and moral business with the primary aim of maximising the revenue generated for charities through the sale of books.

  
   
  All books will be sold with precise information detailing how much money will be donated to which charity. This website will be updated on a monthly basis with a series of figures detailing all donations.
   
 

Up to 60% of a book's sale price goes direct to the nominated charity. All other money generated goes into the succesful operation of the company.
   
    Charity Books is proud to be playing an active role in recycling. As a country we recycle newspapers, plastic and bottles - so why not books?
  
       
    The book industry places a tremendous impact on the environment through deforestation, with publishing companies alone ridding the plant of millions of trees every year. The first print run of JK Rowling’s latest Harry Potter edition stretched to over two billion pages – that’s 2.5 million copies in the UK alone and the equivalent to over 8,000 trees!
