Welcome to the third Charity Books newsletter of 2005! ++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++ CLIC found that whilst paperbacks were selling well in their 25 shops hardbacks were not generating much interest at all. Consequently they are running a trial with Charity Books and the first 145 hardback books have already been picked up from their warehouse in Founded in 1976 By Robert N. Woodward, following the death of his young son to cancer, CLIC decided to concentrate on three specific elements to help sick children and their families: Medical Resources, Practical Help and Research, these key areas remain the focus of CLIC's work today. It is 29 years since a small, determined group of doctors and parents, lead by Bob Woodward, got together to form a local charity in the South West to help children with cancer and leukaemia and their families. Over two decades later CLIC has been transformed into one of ++++++++++++++++++++ Abebooks currently lists more than 70 million books from 13,000 independent booksellers in 48 countries and sells over 20,000 books a day. Originally known for its market-leading sales of second-hand, rare, antique and out-of-print titles Abebooks officially began selling new books last year. They recently expanded their selection of new books by signing contracts with Blackwell’s and Tate Publishing in the ++++++++++++++++++++ Ideally we need hardback books that are in good condition. Non-fiction books can be just as popular (if not more popular) as novels.
